Team Appic

Are you Appic enough to join us?

Oliver Dolgener, Mobile App Developer - Jul 13, 2022

We are team Appic. As you might have guessed already, we are the team that’s fully responsible for our mobile app. 📱 Check them out on App Store and Google Play by the way!

We currently have eight people in the squad - five full stack developers, a product owner, a UX designer, and an agile coach.

Most of our team members have kids and some combine their work with studies, so we are really flexible with working hours! ⏰

When it comes to the way we work (and spend time together 🙌) then it’s really about the team spirit. We all love working together day-to-day and try to be really close to each other - there truly is no “I” in our team! We are extremely passionate about what we build (maybe too much sometimes 🙈) and listen to our customers. And of course, we always speak up and solve problems whenever we see them, instead of ignoring them.

During the day we code using pair programming techniques - that way we can create nice solutions together! Our apps are written using React Native and TypeScript, all data comes from our GraphQL API. For everything design related, we use Figma! 🙂

Our main business goal as a team is to improve the Thomann mobile app. We are lucky enough to have a big, single product that we can constantly improve and work on. Of course, we always put an iterative approach as a first priority and are extremely practical and pragmatic.

We work in Scrum using sprints of two weeks - so you might call that a pretty standard routine. What’s less standard is that every call starts with a few dad jokes, followed by a cringy aftertaste and a lot of sarcasm during the meeting - all of that is something to accept when working in the team 😈 We also have an unusual obsession with the Scrum burndown chart - nothing makes a sprint more complete than a perfect burndown chart 📉

Why choose team Appic? Well, it’s simple - if you’re passionate about mobile apps, you value team spirit, you know when to have fun and you are full of ideas to bring to the team and (eventually) to our customers then you’re a great fit because that’s exactly how we approach our work! ❤️‍🔥
