Who we are

Currently, we are eight people working as a cross-functional team on a daily basis:

  • Daniel, Kevin and Oliver are our Full-Stack Developer and implement new features daily, and fix bugs every now and then.
  • Ashok, as our Quality Engineer, makes sure the online shop is working correctly and the customers are satisfied.
  • Waqas is our Engineering Manager and provides technical support and ensures a productive and happy work environment.
  • Lazar is our inspiring UX/UI Designer.
  • Sarah serves as our Product Owner, managing our team along with another product team. She also keeps our internal stakeholders informed about the progress and updates.
  • Maria is our Agile Coach, she provides valuable support to our team and guides us towards self-awareness and continuous improvement.

The tasks in the team

  • We are constantly working to improve our customers' experience from the moment they enter our online shop to explore our products and assortment, from search to categories to product pages.

  • We map complex product information, take care of the implementation of EU and worldwide directives and laws, and keep pace with international requirements.

  • We continuously question and (A/B) test the UI, and reduce hurdles for our customers - not by guessing, but through data-driven decision-making.

  • We work with agile methods and processes that allow us to constantly improve ourselves and our collaboration. Agile coaches show us new perspectives and help us with new impulses.

  • Search can be done better by others, so we work closely with external partners and internal departments.

  • We conduct thorough unit and integration tests on both backend and frontend code to maintain high-quality standards, extended with manual testing as well. Quality assurance is a top priority for us.

What you should bring to the table

  • At least 4 years of current work experience as a developer (PHP, JS). React is nice to have.

  • Skilled with OOP concepts, common design patterns and complex database structures.

  • Manage code & dependencies with git, composer & npm. Code quality is important to you, ideally secured by automated tests.

  • Code reviews do not scare you, but serve as a basis for improving your knowledge.

  • Self-initiative and a sense of responsibility are important to you. You are constantly working on yourself.

  • Fluent English

Our Tech Stack

  • Shop-Backend: We are on the way to PHP 8.2. We take full responsibility for our framework and adhere to established standards (e.g. PSR) during development.

  • Frontend: We use VanillaJS & React on the client side and Twig on the server side. We use "LESS" as a CSS preprocessor and work with BEM methodology

  • We build and transpile everything our frontend needs using Webpack and Babel.

  • With Docker and Openshift, we are on our way to a container future and make the port of Hamburg look weak.

  • MySQL & Memcached provide our customers with reliable and fast data.

What we offer

  • Flexible working hours and location (fully remote possible).

  • 13th salary in November.

  • Self-determined further training opportunities with clear development paths for your career.

  • Thomann discount for employees.

  • Personal work equipment according to your wishes.

  • Regular team & personal meetings, e.g. Open Space, DevCamps or at conferences.

  • English or German course and external coaching.

  • Urban Sports Club discount
