Thomann.io is forging its digital path forward in the ever-growing eCommerce landscape. As new challenges and opportunities arise on a daily basis, we are searching for new, energetic individuals to join our Storefront team responsible for supporting our customers by focusing on user engagement and conversion.
Primary responsibilities involve developing and maintaining customer-facing features and components across Content Management, Advertising and Customer Relations. Additionally, promotional product pages, marketing features and SEO initiatives will fall under the ownership of this team.
To expand this team, we are seeking another Senior Full-Stack Developer (f/m/d) proficient in PHP with sound knowledge of Frontend technologies.
We work remote, distributed, together: Whether fully remote within Germany or on-site in our offices in Berlin & Erlangen - always as a team, always customer-oriented and data-driven.
You can find our techstack here.
We are constantly working on improving our customers’ satisfaction through landing pages, specialized tools for accessing our assortment, helpful content and guides, as well as easily reachable contact points to our customer service.
You’ll drive pivotal projects from development to production launch, including international advertising expansion and landing page enhancements.
We continuously question and (A/B) test the UI, and reduce hurdles for our customers - not by guessing, but through data-driven decision-making.
Implementation and maintenance of new and existing Product features, from frontend to backend.
We work with agile methods and processes that allow us to constantly improve ourselves and our collaboration. Agile coaches show us new perspectives and help us with new impulses.
We conduct thorough automated unit and integration tests on both backend and frontend code to maintain high-quality standards, extended with manual testing as well. Quality assurance is a top priority for us.
We advocate for knowledge preservation and sharing through comprehensive technical documentation.
You’ll help propel the team forward, leading technical solution planning and ensuring project goals are met within expected timelines.
You’ll engage and collaborate with stakeholders and other engineering teams on business-critical projects and features.
At least 5 years of current work experience as a Full-Stack or Backend Developer working with PHP
Hands on experience with Typescript, React, and CSS3
Proficiency in OOP concepts, common design patterns on the backend and frontend, and complex database structures
Experience with frameworks such as Symfony and Tailwind is advantageous, but not essential
You manage code & dependencies with Git, composer, and npm. Code quality is important to you, ideally secured by automated tests (PHPUnit, Cypress)
Code reviews do not scare you, but serve as a basis for exchanging constructive feedback as well as improving and sharing your knowledge.
Shop-Backend: We utilize the latest PHP version 8.3 for our backend development. We take full responsibility for our in-house framework and adhere to established standards (e.g. PSR) during development.
Frontend: We use TypeScript & React on the client side and Twig on the server side. We use "LESS" as a CSS preprocessor and are well on our way to Tailwind.
We build and transpile everything our frontend needs using Webpack and Babel.
With Docker and Openshift, we are on our way to a container future that will make the port of Hamburg look weak.
MySQL & Memcached provide our customers with reliable and fast data.
Flexible working hours and location, with the option to go into the office (fully-remote possible)
13th salary in November

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive employer that creates a welcoming atmosphere, and value diversity in our teams. We do not make judgements based on ethnicity, nationality, age, marital status, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, or religion.
The first interview with one of our talent acquisition managers helps both of us to see if our ideas and values match.
You'll get to know a part of our team and get a chance to score with technical knowledge. In addition, you can ask anything you want to know.
You'll receive a task that would fit your new role. You'll be asked to prepare the task either at home or live with some of our team members. Afterwards, there will be a debriefing with team members from your future department.
Last, you'll get to know some team members of our leadership community. If this is a fit, too, you'll receive an offer from us.
Work from home or any of our offices. Our team is 100% remote and will stay this way. You need a stable internet connection and your laptop. Currently our way of work supports the EU.
