People & Culture Lead (f/m/d) for Tech & Data Team

Hey, Moin and Servus, we are Carmen and Anne, the People and Culture Unit at As the current P&C manager is going on a trip around the world 🛫, we are looking for a People&Culture Lead (f/m/d) to work in our office in Berlin or remotely (CET +/-2h). is the Tech and Data Department of Thomann. A diverse mix of developers, system administrators, designers, product owners, agile coaches, data engineers and many more. Whether from our offices in Erlangen and Berlin or remotely (CET +/-2h): We work every day to provide a unique and inspiring e-commerce experience for our Thomann customers worldwide.

Who we are and how we work

  • We are Carmen and Anne (both Recruiters):

    • Carmen lives in the idyllic Franconia, with beautiful green mountains and great lakes. She has a sales background and worked for a job board for some years. Since she loves working with people and enjoys helping people find their dream job, she became a recruiter.💜

    • Anne lives near Berlin with her daughter, dog and partner. She comes from the event industry. Since she has a great desire to support people in the company, she became a recruiter. Even though she would have liked to become a diving instructor on Lanzarote.🐙

  • We have dailys, team 1:1s and weeklys, in which we talk about the current status of our projects.

  • Furthermore we have 1:1s with our lead to speak about our feelings, topics and career development.

  • There is always an open door policy during working hours within the team.

  • Tools: Kenjo, Recruitee, Slack and GSuite

  • Currently we work on projects like Meet-ups, summer-newsletter and German course.

Here's what you'll do

  • Make sure that the team has enough freedom and self-confidence to manage projects on their own. Recognise potential barriers at an early stage and remove them so that no one stumbles.

  • Be Carmen's and Anne's sparring partner and mentor for recruiting processes, employer branding, contracts, onboarding and other P&C projects.

  • Be part of the strategy community and push P&C topics within the organisation.

  • Ensure a positive and healthy work environment, 360° feedback culture, performance reviews, employee development, career paths and much more.

  • Lots of interaction with other leads and team members 🤝 to know exactly what is happening in the company and to support where you can.

  • Stay ahead of the game, drive initiatives, understand trends and best practices.

Skills you should have

  • Experience in the agile leadership of a P&C/HR team ideally in a tech start-up or fast-growing tech company

  • Be a real team player with an empathetic personality and always know how to get the best out of your team and yourself

  • Be a recruiting and active sourcing master-mind💡

  • A real love for setting up and optimising processes such as 360-degree feedback, guidelines for leads, onboarding, performance review, etc.

  • Familiar with German labour law.

  • First experience in employer branding would be great.

  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.

1. Getting to know you

2. Technical interview

You'll get to know a part of our team and get a chance to score with technical knowledge. In addition, you can ask anything you want to know.

3. Tryout task & debriefing

60 minutes
you & specialists

You'll receive a task that would fit your new role. You'll be asked to prepare the task either at home or live with some of our team members. Afterwards, there will be a debriefing with team members from your future department.

4. Leadership interview

60 minutes

Last, you'll get to know some team members of our leadership community. If this is a fit, too, you'll receive an offer from us.

We might adjust the process for some positions. This means you might get to know some more team members or get a more detailed chance to see your new role in action.

Our offices

Remote. Distributed. Together.

Work from home or any of our offices. Our team is 100% remote and will stay this way. You need a stable internet connection and your laptop. Currently our way of work supports the central European timezone +/-2h.


Our Thomann headquarters. Just a few minutes’ drive outside of Bamberg. Come by to visit our shop or meet with colleagues outside of tech & data.


Our office in the heart of Berlin. Easily reachable at Rosenthaler Platz. Perfect for workshops and team building.


Our office in Nuremberg's metropolitan area. Just a few minutes by foot from Erlangen station. Nice, quiet location to do some deep work.
