We are the Ops Team and look after the infrastructure in the Thomann universe - ranging from the Thomann web shop and websites of the Thomann brands to forums and blogs for musicians.
From our office in Erlangen, remotely (CET +/-2h) or from one of our data centers - we work every day to make Europe's biggest website for musicians even faster and more stable!
We are looking for a Linux DevOps System Administrator (f/m/d) for our offices in Erlangen, Treppendorf or remotely (CET +/-2h) .
Your main task lies in Linux system administration. As a member of a team of six generalists you will also be working on DevOps tasks and work with technologies such as Kubernetes/OpenShift and Docker.

Skills you should have

  • Profound knowledge of Linux system administration
  • Experience with container and virtualisation solutions (Docker, OpenShift/Kubernetes, VMware)
  • Able to work independently and on your own responsibility
  • Motivated and committed to your work
  • Quick learner and creative approach to solution finding
  • Proficient English language skills and fluent in German

Here’s what you’ll do

  • Your area of responsibility is the system infrastructure.
  • Implement high-availability solutions, e.g. redundant database clusters.
  • Your role is positioned between administration and development and you plan and execute projects with both divisions.
  • Containerize existing applications and migrate them to OpenShift.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all digital content is delivered as quickly as possible while maximizing availability.
  • Take care of the maintenance of the hardware and software of our servers.

1. Getting to know you

2. Technical interview

You'll get to know a part of our team and get a chance to score with technical knowledge. In addition, you can ask anything you want to know.

3. Tryout task & debriefing

You'll receive a task that would fit your new role. You'll be asked to prepare the task either at home or live with some of our team members. Afterwards, there will be a debriefing with team members from your future department.

4. Leadership interview

60 minutes

Last, you'll get to know some team members of our leadership community. If this is a fit, too, you'll receive an offer from us.

We might adjust the process for some positions. This means you might get to know some more team members or get a more detailed chance to see your new role in action.

Our offices

Remote. Distributed. Together.

Work from home or any of our offices. Our team is 100% remote and will stay this way. You need a stable internet connection and your laptop. Currently our way of work supports the central European timezone +/-2h.

Treppendorf

Our Thomann headquarters. Just a few minutes’ drive outside of Bamberg. Come by to visit our shop or meet with colleagues outside of tech & data.

Berlin

Our thomann.io office in the heart of Berlin. Easily reachable at Rosenthaler Platz. Perfect for workshops and team building.

Erlangen

Our thomann.io office in Nuremberg's metropolitan area. Just a few minutes by foot from Erlangen station. Nice, quiet location to do some deep work.
